HND in Health and Social Care

You will study a range of units which relate to health and social care including six mandatory core units; Communicating in Health and Social Care, Organisations Principles of Health and Social Care Practice, Health and Safety in the Health and Social Care Workplace, Personal and Professional Development in Health and Social Care, Working in Partnership in Health and Social Care there will then be optional units which include: Social Policy, The Sociological Context of Health and Social Care, Empowering Users of Health and Social Care Services, Safeguarding in Health and Social Care, The Role of Public Health in Health and Social Care and will be chosen in line with the student cohort

Successful completion of current course and achievement of level 4 (C) in GCSE English.

You will be assessed via internally assessed assignments and work based competency for Unit 4. You will be assessed through a range of internally assessed units. Learners must achieve a minimum of 120 credits (of which at least 65 must be at level 4) on their programme of learning to be awarded a BTEC Level 4 HNC and a minimum of 240 credits (of which at least 125 must be at level 5 or above) to be awarded a BTEC Level 5 HND. The assessment of BTEC Higher National qualifications is criterion-referenced and centres are required to assess learners’ evidence against published learning outcomes and assessment criteria.
