This course is a one-year BA(Hons) top-up year for applicants who have successfully completed a two-year HND or foundation degree in digital media design, or another related discipline such as animation, motion graphics or graphic design.
The course is divided into four units – Cultural and Critical Studies, Digital Media design Practice, Professional Practice and a self-initiated project. Students produce a range of outcomes that include interface design, screen design, time-based media, digital image making and authoring.

You will require 240 Credits from the Foundation Degree in Digital Media Design.
The course is assessed through a mixture of practical and theoretical elements depending on the module but most are predominantly practical in their outcome. Each module has a practical and theoretical element that varies year on year depending on new developments in Digital Media, usually consisting of major practical project and a written component, such as a blog. Culture and Critical studies is assessed through a 5000-7000 word dissertation or 20min documentary podcast

Students can enter into industry either as freelance designers or work in a range of design companies, or study at post graduate level.
