This Level 2 course is the perfect stepping stone to our Level 3 course. It is an exciting practical course that will teach you more about sport and physical activity while giving you the opportunity to put your learning into practice with a 30-hour work placement.
This exciting and practical Level 2 course consists of four units. During the year, you will learn more about the sports industry and what participating in sport is all about. You will also study anatomy and physiology, physical fitness and injuries, and gain a thorough introduction to healthy exercise and nutrition.
Alongside the Level 2 qualification, you will also have the opportunity to gain a Community Sports Leadership Award (CSLA) and join one of our Sports Academies.
Minimum four grade 3-9 at GCSE or successful completion of the Level 1 course, and English and/or maths at grade 3.
You will be assessed throughout the year by a range of coursework assignments and practical tasks.
Once you have completed this course, you will achieve a Level 2 Certificate in Sport & Physical Activity, awarded by NCFE.
Once you have finished this course, you will be able to progress to our Level 3 Sport courses to learn more about this subject and get ready for further study at university or find employment opportunities within the sports industry.
There will be some extra costs for this course as you will need the appropriate kit for practical sessions. You will be able to purchase college-branded kit through our local supplier.
Educational trips and visits will take place throughout the year. Some of these are required as part of module completion. These will be at a small cost.
