This one-year L3 Diploma in Personal Training course is specifically tailored to those learners who are interested in pursuing a career in the health and fitness industry. The course is CIMSPA accredited which gives it national and international recognition. Learners will be taught in our new gym facility and studios based at Eastbourne sports park, where they will be able to have full use of the Technogym equipment to assist their learning. Learners are required to successfully complete the Level 2 gym instructor course before progressing onto the Level 3 personal training qualification. All students will be enrolled on these 2 courses from the start.
The course provides learners the opportunity to develop key knowledge, skills and understanding to allow them to become a qualified personal trainer and gym instructor, which will enable them to work with clients within the health and fitness industry.
This one-year course is aimed at those learners who are seeking to work in the health and fitness industry as a qualified personal trainer. You will benefit from being taught in our new gym facility and studios where we have state of the art ‘Technogym’ equipment. This is all on-site and based at Eastbourne sports park with our partnership with Wave Leisure. Your learning will be done through a mixture of practical and theoretical application, with some units being assessed through exams. You will develop in-depth knowledge about health and fitness, and develop your personal skills to enable you to make a positive contribution to the health and fitness industry as a qualified personal trainer.
Some of the units you will be covering include:
Minimum five grade 4-9 at GCSE or successful completion of the Level 2 course, and English and/or maths at grade 4.
You will be assessed through written coursework, assessment of practical activities and exams
Once you have completed this one-year course, learners will have achieved a Level 2 certificate in fitness instructing (gym-based exercise) and a Level 3 Diploma in personal training (gym-based exercise)
On completion of the course, learners will have the necessary skills and qualifications to seek employment in a range of jobs within the health and fitness industry. These include: gym instructors; personal trainers; health providers specialising in exercise referral.
Moreover, the course will develop learners personal skills to allow them to start their own career as a personal trainer
All learners will be required to purchase kit which they will be required to wear for all lessons at time. Costs will be confirmed at interview
Learners will normally require at least 4 GCSE grades at level 4 including Maths and English. However, we encourage learners to apply for this course if the above entry criteria might not be met.
Learners will at first study the level 2 gym instructor qualification in order, and will need to pass this qualification to study the level 3 personal training qualification. Therefore, those students who successfully complete the year will achieve both qualifications.
