The course forms part of the Level 2 programme. Within the qualification you will study 7 units including:

You will also have the option to study the Community Sports Leadership Award (CSLA) and have the opportunity to join a Sports Academy course. Where appropriate, you will also be able to study additional GCSEs. We will expect you to show a commitment to developing your knowledge associated with practical performance in sport.
Where appropriate, you may be required to study additional GCSEs such as English Language and Maths.
Minimum four grade 3-9 at GCSE or successful completion of the Level 1 course, and English or maths at grade 3.
Assessment is through a combination of one externally set assessment as well as continuous coursework and practical completion of work.
NCFE DIPLOMA IN SPORT - Equivalent to 2 GCSE
This course provides learners with the underpinning skills and knowledge to progress on to the BTEC Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Sport or Sports Science.
You will be required to have appropriate clothing for practical sessions, some of which can be purchased through college. You will also be expected to attend a residential educational visit as part of the course. This will be covered by the fees associated with the course.
Successful progression on to the Level 3 programme will consider attendance, attitude and achievement across all subjects studied, including GCSE English & Maths.
