Travel & Tourism Students Embark on a Journey to Dubai

East Sussex College students studying Travel & Tourism in Hastings, embarked on an enriching trip to the vibrant city of Dubai, to expand on their industry knowledge and experience beyond the classroom.

Travel & Tourism students had the extraordinary opportunity to expand their horizons with a captivating trip to Dubai.

Immersed in a world where tradition meets modernity, students embarked on a journey that transcended sightseeing. Dubai, with its towering skyscrapers, bustling souks, and pristine beaches, served as the perfect backdrop for learning beyond textbooks. They witnessed firsthand how Dubai's tourism sector thrives through innovation, hospitality, and an appreciation for its rich heritage.

They had thrilling adventures like the Afternoon Desert Safari and fun times at Atlantis Aquaventure Waterpark. Exploring famous spots like the Dubai Mall and relaxing on local beaches and hotel rooftops were highlights. Everything was smoothly organised, from transportation to flights with Emirates, making sure their trip was hassle-free. Overall, they got fully immersed in Dubai’s amazing experiences!

Hayley Watkinson, Travel & Tourism lecturer, said, “Our Travel and tourism students experienced an action packed five days where they witnessed top class customer service on a trip of a lifetime. Visiting famous landmarks and tourist attractions. They benefited from experiencing a different culture, very different from our own. We even had comments from students such as 'this is the best day of my life'!”

By stepping out of their comfort zones, students honed essential skills such as adaptability, cultural sensitivity, and teamwork, all of which are invaluable assets in today's world. Their journey to Dubai equipped them with the tools to thrive in the dynamic field of travel and tourism.
