The Group will provide outstanding, responsive and viable academic, professional and technical learning, providing excellent progression opportunities for students and delivering the national skills agenda to benefit individuals, communities and employers in East Sussex.

The Group is working within three strategic priorities:

Standards – the Group will target improvements in standards across East Sussex so they:

  • Meet and exceed the South East and national averages
  • Contribute positively to economic development and regeneration

Strategic partnerships – we really value working with a range of partners including schools, colleges, universities, other training providers, the voluntary sector, the employer community and local authorities. The Group will work closely with our partners to:

  • Open up new opportunities for co-operation and co-working
  • Extend the college’s reach, inclusivity and engagement with all communities within East Sussex

Maximise learning, skills development and progression for East Sussex communities.

East Sussex College Group Board

At this critical stage in the transition to the new college and the development of its vision, it was felt that the involvement of staff and students is essential. Therefore, both staff governors from each college and one student governor will serve on the East Sussex College Group board to help to shape the future until the end of this academic year when elections will be held. Governors will meet with staff and students in the summer term to seek their views on the most appropriate way to structure these elections.
