Hair and Beauty students from East Sussex College present a Prom Showcase for secondary school students later this month

The Prom Showcase, for Year 10 and Year 11 students, will be held at the Lewes campus of East Sussex College on Wednesday 26th February. The event will include a catwalk of hair and beauty looks and prom fashion. Kate Smith, Head of Curriculum for Hair, Beauty and Make-up at ESC, explains: “We wanted to create an event that highlights the training and skills acquired on our hair and make-up artistry courses. The catwalk element will also feature stunning prom wear by Our Little Secret prom and bridal boutique.

"It will be a really entertaining and informative evening for visitors,” adds organiser Melanie Coupland, Beauty tutor at ESC. “There is a £2 entry fee for guests as seats are limited. However, every student receives a goodie bag, which includes a voucher for a free treatment at our Evolve Eco Salon and a discount on prom dresses purchased from Our Little Secret. Not only are we showcasing the talented students, this is the perfect event for those who are leaving school and preparing for prom!

East Sussex College Hair and Beauty students will also be celebrated, with their work being recognised in a mini awards ceremony. ESC Beauty alumni include Rebecca West, who was crowned the world’s best young beauty therapist in the Worldskills competition in 2019. Rebecca and her predecessor, Kaiya Swain, WorldSkills gold medal winner in 2017, will both be attending as guest judges.

Places to the ESC Prom Showcase are limited. Year 11 students and guests can register their attendance on Eventbrite:

£2 is payable on the door.
