What will I study?

During this two-year course, you will study three main components of media. You will start by investigating what the media is. You will consider a range of media forms, from music marketing to video games. You will analyse media language, explore representations in the media, investigate media industries and consider audience behaviour. Relevant theories and case studies will help you to develop your own insight.

The second component will teach you more about media forms and products. You will study global television, mainstream and alternative magazines, plus media in the online age. You will also explore texts in more detail and become a critically engaged media consumer.

The third component focuses on cross-media production. You will construct an individual cross-media production using digital technology.
