A Level Results Day At Sussex Downs College

Thursday 17th August is results day for students up and down the country. As Sussex Downs College looks forward to celebrating its best results to date, here’s a rundown of what happens on the day.

Sussex Downs College students are invited to the Eastbourne and Lewes campus from 9.00am to collect their results. Results will be available for collection from Tyler House Refectory and Cliffe Building Common Room throughout the morning.

Students are welcome to bring along friends and family to mark the end of their time at college. Breakfast pastries and juice will be offered and there will also be the chance to be photographed by a professional photographer and mark the moment with friends and family.

At approximately 9.30am students will be invited to take part in a dazzling confetti cannon photo opportunity for local publicity – the more the merrier!

Press interviews will also take place during the morning (8.45-10am). If you would like to share your story please speak to the photographer or College Press Officer on the day.

We anticipate the day to be a celebratory event for the College and our students, but we understand results may not go as planned. If your results aren’t as expected, please visit the Employability Hubs on campus (Eastbourne and Lewes) where advisers will be available to talk you through all the options if you haven’t received the required grades for your next steps.

There are options within Sussex Downs College: the Access to Higher Education team will be providing information on courses run at Sussex Downs College to prepare you for university if you haven’t received the grades needed from your A Level /BTEC course.

The Higher Education team will also be available to talk about clearing and all the options available to you once you have received your grades.
