Level 2 students got an exclusive insight into high-end barbering with a visit from Bullhead Barbers, a local business that works closely with the college.
Former student Riley Bedding, who is now thriving in the industry, returned to deliver a cutting demo, sharing his skills and experience with current students. It was a great opportunity to see a successful ex-student in action and learn what it takes to work in an upmarket barbershop.
Level 3 students took their learning even further with a trip to London for the Great British Barber Bash, a national event that showcases some of the best barbers in the industry. They watched live demonstrations from top professionals, including Men’s Hairdresser of the Year, Kevin Luchmun, and Josh Lamonaca, the founder of Menspire.
They also met Josh Hughes (@thetourettesbarber), a barber with a huge Instagram following, and picked up expert tips and techniques throughout the day.
Both experiences gave students an exciting insight into the world of barbering, learning from professionals at the top of their game. The college continues to provide valuable industry connections, giving students the skills and inspiration to succeed in their careers.
Emma Stahr, Hairdressing Lecturer at ESC Eastbourne. said, “We’re incredibly grateful to Bullhead Barbers and the Great British Barber Bash for giving our students such valuable industry insight. Opportunities like these help them build skills, confidence, and connections that will support their future careers.”
