Following the catering department's choice to support @eastbournefoodbank as their chosen ‘charity of the year’, first year students visited the food bank to see how the organisation works behind the scenes.
The Catering students were taken on a tour of the facilities and given a talk on how the organisation operates and supports the local community.
Students then helped sort through all of the deliveries, separating different tinned foods and toiletries. They also date checked everything to make sure effective stock rotation was in place - elements of which were covered in their day-to-day sessions at the College.
The catering department at East Sussex College, said, “We’re very proud to be supporting the @eastbournefoodbank this year and we hope the generous donations from our guests across this academic year will go on to support many families across Eastbourne.”
