College to be sponsor at Sussex Big Thank You Awards 2021

Sussex Big Thank You Awards 2021

East Sussex College is excited to be sponsoring the Education Hero award at the Sussex Big Thank You Awards 2021.

The College recognises that it has been another extremely challenging year for everyone in 2021 and looks forward to celebrating the achievements and efforts of countless individuals in the community.

These awards are the perfect opportunity to say a big thank you to those who have offered their help and support to others throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. This event will also include entertainment and special guests on what will be a family friendly evening. Anyone is eligible to win an award!

Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, ESC played a part in providing essential support whenever possible to those in need. At the start of lockdown staff and students of the College made PPE for key workers and refused to stand still at a critical moment.

ESC responded sharply to lockdown by introducing online lessons for students to continue their further education. Part-time learners have always been at the forefront of our thinking too, and we also pledged £1million in skills training to support those furloughed or made redundant.

2021 wasn’t all doom and gloom as success stories continued to emerge from the College despite the global crisis. The success of 96-year-old Archie White became a nation-wide story after he became the College’s oldest graduate this year - and one of the oldest in the world!

The College was also able to share the success of inspirational tutor Bernie Dearle, who took part in a sea swim for 365 consecutive days in aid of St Michael’s Hospice.

Rebecca Conroy, CEO at East Sussex College, said, “We are thrilled to sponsor the Education Hero award at the Big Thank You awards event. It is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the great work of so many individuals and say a big thank you to those who help make East Sussex a brighter place.”

The Sussex Big Thank You Awards are scheduled for Thursday 21st October at The Floral Hall, Eastbourne, and are set to run from 18:00 to 21:00. To book tickets for this exciting event, please click here.
