EYR is an excellent opportunity for local students between ages 5-19 to host and produce a radio show - students can get a genuine feel for life in the industry!
The packed three-day schedule kicks off on Wednesday 16 November at 10am. ‘Meet the Media’, the flagship show sponsored by East Sussex College, is set to get underway on Thursday at 12pm. Meet the Media provides students with a fantastic opportunity to face a panel of media professionals and receive top tips and advice ahead of potential futures in the industry. Guest names lined up to be quizzed by students about their industry include Yetunde Yusuf, BBC Broadcast Journalist; Peter Lindsey, Bournefree Magazine Editor; Dan Gasser, Radio X Presenter; Rik Scott, Voiceover Artist, and India Wentworth, Eastbourne Herald Trainee Reporter.
Local schools involved in the project, hosting their own shows, include Polegate, Cavendish, Stone Cross and Willingdon School to name a few! Click here to find the full schedule.
Rebecca Conroy, CEO of East Sussex College, said, “We are really excited to once again be hosting Eastbourne Youth Radio at East Sussex College! We are also proud sponsors of the event, as it’s a fantastic opportunity for students to get live experience in the industry and meet excellent media professionals! This year I have been given my own show which I am very excited about [17 November - 4pm].”
