The broadcast was once again hosted at the College’s Eastbourne campus and the radio event provided students with an opportunity to produce and host a round-the-clock radio show.
Eastbourne Youth Radio wrapped up proceedings on Friday after three days on air. A huge thank you must go to all the staff involved in the production for making this possible. The event also provided the College with a great opportunity for visiting schools to get a glimpse of some of ESC’s facilities and get involved.
Meet the Media, the flagship show sponsored by ESC, aired on Thursday, and saw students put questions to a panel of media professionals. This enabled students to learn more about the demands on modern-day media experts and what is expected from them in the industry.
The panel included; Joe Miller - Kelsey Media’s Head of Video for motoring titles and Staff Writer on Classic Car Buyer, Rik Scott - freelance Radio Production and Voiceover Artist, Dan Gasser - Radio X DJ/Presenter, and India Wentworth - Eastbourne Herald journalist.
CEO of East Sussex College, Rebecca Conroy, also took to the airwaves for the first time on Thursday, speaking to Year 11 students about what to expect at college. Rebecca was involved in the College’s Thursday 5pm segment of the radio show and was another key voice involved in the impressive production.
There were countless other successful shows as well, including items from Stone Cross School, Willingdon Community School, and St Catherine’s College to name a few.
