ESC Sponsor Eastbourne Rugby Club

East Sussex College is delighted to announce its sponsorship of Eastbourne Rugby Club’s Juniors and Colts Rugby (U12s to U18s) teams for the 2023/24 campaign.

The College has secured a deal to sponsor Eastbourne Rugby Football Club Juniors and Colts Rugby; this partnership is focused on restarting the rugby programmes at East Sussex College, and growing rugby in Eastbourne.

Eastbourne Rugby Junior and Colts Teams have been very successful recently with representations at Sussex (County Rugby) and with the Harlequins Rugby Academy.

James Stevenson, Chairman of Eastbourne Rugby Club, said, “I am so pleased that ESC and ERFC have made this partnership; I played Rugby for both ERFC and the College, known as Park College at the time, and it was an important part of my education, development and helped me when I got to University. Our association will help develop established rugby players and new rugby players alike, giving them a fun and engaging environment to enjoy Rugby at ESC.”

Scott Raybould, Head of Curriculum for Sport at East Sussex College said, “The College is proud to be main sponsors of Eastbourne Rugby Club’s Juniors and Colts Rugby (U12s to U18s) teams. Over the years, Eastbourne Rugby Club have made excellent progress with their Junior and Colts set up, and this partnership allows both East Sussex College and Eastbourne Rugby Club to help continue to develop rugby for young people in the local community.

“The partnership will also allow the College and Eastbourne Rugby Club to work together to provide college students the chance to become part of a Rugby academy, where they will train and work towards playing competitive fixtures. All students who are part of our Rugby academy will also have full use of Eastbourne Rugby Club training equipment, will train at their ground and will be coached by members of Eastbourne Rugby Club’s coaching team. This is an exciting partnership, and allows the Eastbourne campus to continue to develop its links with local community sport providers to enhance and enrich the student experience.”

The College’s Eastbourne campus has outstanding sports facilities which include a full size 3G pitch, brand new studio classrooms and full use of the other facilities on offer at Eastbourne Sports Park. This includes state-of-the-art gym facilities containing Technogym equipment, in partnership with Wave Leisure.
