Exploring the World of Engineering

Engineering T-Level students from East Sussex College Eastbourne and Hastings travelled to Tunbridge Wells to meet with the highly skilled engineering team at Sensia.

Sensia is the leading automation specialist in oil and gas production, transportation, and processing with a team of more than 1,000 experts serving customers globally in more than 80 countries. This multi-national organisation, which is part of Rockwell Automation and Schlumberger, gave the pupils a unique insight into the industry.

As the first fully integrated oilfield automation solutions provider, Sensia makes the production, transportation and processing of oil and gas simpler, safer, more secure, more productive, and better understood from end to end.

Victoria Orbell, Placement Developer at East Sussex College, said, “The pupils had the opportunity to first hand see the production and manufacturer of the blending units and observe the water extraction process and data analysis. They also got to hear about career opportunities within the industry and what those first steps could look like. One of the lucky pupils will be selected to work at Sensia for their industry placement.”
