East Sussex College students hosted a sports event for 200 local primary school students this week (Wednesday 5th December).
Students studying the Higher Sports Leadership Award at the Eastbourne campus ran the day of sporting activities as part of their course. In attendance were Year 1 to Year 4 primary school students from local schools including Polegate, Heron Park, Shinewater, Willingdon, Pevensey & Westham, Roselands, Stafford and St Andrew’s.
Lyndsey Armstrong, lecturer in Sport & Public Uniformed Services at ESC, comments, “The College students have done a fantastic job in planning the activities for the children to take part in today. They have been responsible for everything from the promotion leaflets to the invites to the schools.”
The event is part of their course unit on running an event. The students have also worked with Foundation Learning students and will work within the community as part of their assessment.
