Positive Placement Feedback for T-Level Student

East Sussex College Eastbourne

East Sussex College Eastbourne T-Level Education & Childcare student Ellie-Grace Cushway has received overwhelmingly positive feedback after successful work placements in the industry.

Ellie-Grace Cushway, who is currently studying T-Level Education & Childcare at the College’s Eastbourne campus, recently received some high praise for her incredible efforts throughout her work experience at Annecy Catholic Primary School in Seaford.

A teacher from Annecy School reached out to Ellie's tutors and was full of praise for her professional and impressive contributions throughout her time at the school.

The teacher said, “Ellie has done an outstanding job this week. We are particularly short staffed at the moment and so Ellie stepped into Year 3 at a moment's notice to support some children with varying additional needs.

“She was professional and nurturing, and embraced the challenge head on. She has some fantastic ideas which really show how well she knows our children. She really is an asset to the school and we are very grateful for all of her hard work.”

In response to Ellie’s placement feedback, Rachel Byrne, T-Level Education & Childcare Lecturer at East Sussex College, said, “Ellie is one of the big success stories for ESCG. This makes me extremely proud as I have watched Ellie grow in both confidence and skills over the last two years and has now become an outstanding TA and trainee teacher. To have staff at the school comment that the T-Level students are very similar to their 1st year university students is the best comment a teacher can get!

“As someone who worked in the childcare and primary sector for many years before becoming a teacher, I have known that it is vital that the students acquire a high standard of knowledge alongside the essential skill sets needed to work in the industry.”

Rachel added, “Previously, this combination of high academia and strong skill sets were not mixed, and it has been a joy to combine the two within this T-Level. Finally, the staff team feels that our local providers and the universities will benefit hugely from this change to our qualifications. Students leave this course work ready or higher education ready.”
