The 2022 edition of Futurebuild was held at the beginning of March and was an opportunity for East Sussex College students to view stands and listen to talks by leading manufacturers and suppliers, such as Retrofit Academy (who are partners of the College), Eurocell, RIBA, Bricsys and Kingspan.
The trip proved hugely beneficial to students, particularly as there was a heavy focus on retrofit for carbon reduction which aligned nicely with the design project that the students are currently working on for the College.
Matt Roberts, T-Level Design, Surveying and Planning lecturer at East Sussex College Eastbourne, said, “Futurebuild is a construction industry event where manufacturers and suppliers share their latest technology. There is normally an overarching theme and this year it was about retrofit.
“The trip showed the students how diverse the construction industry is and gave them a taste for what technology is coming to the market soon. Trips like this are a reason why future students should consider doing this course.”
He added, “T-Levels are all about industry involvement and we get out as much as we can.”
