The spectacular ESC Live Open Events return to East Sussex College this Autumn

Over the next few weeks, East Sussex College will once again be opening its doors to launch ESC Live and showcase its range of courses.

ESC Live will be taking on a ‘Fearless’ theme this autumn which encourages year 11s to come along, step out of their comfort zone, and have a go at something new.

These showcase events will be crammed with interactive, entertaining, and thought-provoking activities, perfect for potential students to find out what the college has to offer them after Year 11.

Tutors will be on hand to tell prospective students about the college’s brand new curriculum developments. From the start of the next academic year in September 2020, students will be learning key knowledge, skills and behaviours in their chosen subjects. These core elements have been developed alongside local and national employers, meaning students are learning the exact skills that businesses are looking for.

As well as these essential skills, students will also be given more time and opportunities to put their learning into practice during industry placements.

Dan Shelley, Executive Director of Strategic Partnerships and Engagement at East Sussex College says: “These showcase events are our biggest events of the year and always have such a buzz. There is everything from building brick walls to recording your own music track. You’ll be able to explore our campuses and talk to our expert tutors about A-Level subjects, vocational courses and our brand new T-Levels.”

From September 2020, East Sussex College will be one of the first colleges in the country, and the only college in East Sussex, to be offering T-Levels. The government is launching three subjects in Construction, Education, and Digital next year, with plans to roll-out more subjects the following year.

If you’re interested in finding out more about A-Level, Vocational, or T-Level courses then make sure you come along to the college’s open events on Thursday 24th October in Eastbourne, Thursday 7th November at the Ore Valley campus in Hastings, Wednesday 13th November in Lewes and Thursday 21st November at the Station Plaza campus in Hastings. All of the events start at 4:30pm and run until 7:30pm.
