We, the Future

Art & Design students from East Sussex College Hastings, launch their virtual exhibition, ISOCREATION

East Sussex College's end-of-year shows have gone virtual! The college events calendar, which is usually packed this time of year, with student exhibitions, film screenings, dance performance and music gigs, has turned to digital platforms to showcase student work for 2020.

Hastings School of Art & Design, based at the Station Plaza campus, launches its online exhibition this Friday 19th June, 7pm, on the student-centered platform, We, The Future.

Catherine Bell, Head of Curriculum for Art & Design in Hastings, comments, "As with previous years, you will have the opportunity to peruse work from the highly creative and exceptionally talented students who have been engaging with iso-creative practices during the past three months. Digitally collected and curated, animation, film, zines, textiles and more will fill your screen with innovative observations of the world."

The exhibition showcases student work from eight UAL courses, Level 1 through to Foundation Diploma, and the A-Level provision, bringing together the work of over 300 students. Each student has been supported through the quarantine with distance learning methods, and many have found the joys of creating studios at home and embedding their practice. For others, their process have been more somber and reflective, pawing the intricate experiences that manifest in the confusion around our current reality.

Catherine adds, "This curation is a celebration, a proud and symbolic moment for many of our graduates, some of whom are leaving home, branching out and creating a new reality."

Join ESC online this Friday for the Private View, or visit the website anytime beyond to view the exhibition. Sign up now via www.wethefuture.co.uk to receive all the latest information and for a launch reminder.
