Beauty Specialist Techniques Diploma Level 2

This fast track one year course is delivered one night a week during term time. This vocational qualification is most suited to learners who wish to pursue a career in the beauty therapy industry. You will develop the necessary knowledge, understanding and skills to provide facial skincare, eyelash and brow treatments, manicure and pedicure services. You will also be required to carry out client consultations that comply with health and safety requirements in the salon. You will be assessed through observations, assignments and short written papers. Our training salons the operate a realistic working environment. You will be required to bring models/clients for some lessons to fully utilise the time you have on campus. Theory units will be completed in an online virtual classroom with the majority as independent study. It is recommended that you complete the distance learning course in Preparing to Run and Hair and Beauty Business alongside this qualification.

This course is a fast track one year course attending one evening (Tuesday) per week during term time. This course allows you to study a variety of topics to enable you to become a professional Beauty Therapist. This course is widely recognised by industry and includes facial treatments, eyelash and eyebrow tinting and eyebrow shaping techniques, manicure and pedicure treatments, waxing, make up and health and safety in the workplace, customer care and health and safety. This course will give you a range of skills that will enable you to gain work in the beauty industry or progress onto the part time level 3 beauty qualification.

In our modern training studios, the course is based on continuous assessment of practical work, assignments, homework and short written papers throughout the course. You will collate all your work in a portfolio of evidence.

Level 2 Certificate in Beauty Therapy

On completion of the course you will be able to work as a beauty therapist within a salon or on a freelance basis. You may wish to progress onto the part time level 3 beauty course which covers body massage and electrical facial treatments. You also have the option of the level 4 salon management course which is delivered part time with a mix of on campus and remote independent learning and assessment.

You are required to purchase a kit that consists of all the equipment you will need to get started, a uniform which must be worn within the training studio and a textbook to assist your studies. Details will be given at interview.

This qualification requires you to work on members of the public as clients for assessment and you will need to provide your own models for assessment or practise. You will complete all theory/knowledge and assignments remotely through our online platform, Google classroom to maximise the time you are at college with practical treatments.
