The benefits of qualified at level 3 opens up an extensive career pathway for you. You can work in spas, salons, travel with you work, progress onto level 4 courses in aesthetics, salon management or venture into teaching of the subject. Delivery of this course will run over 2 days and planned to work around school hours and / or work commitments.

What will I study?

You will learn a full range of level 3 treatments, valued by employers and customers:

Advanced facial work using six types of equipment including microdermabrasion. Body massage combined with mechanical massage techniques. Anatomy and Physiology Advanced skin and body Analysis Advanced body treatments for slimming, toning and shaping.

In addition, you will have the option to add skills such as spray tanning, gel nail polish, eyelash extensions and stone therapy to your portfolio of skills.

What previous qualifications or experience do I need?

You will be required to demonstrate a good level of English in both written and communication skills, in line with the level of the course.

How will I be assessed?

Your skills and knowledge will be assesed in a variety of methods:

Practical unit assessments (graded) 2 written papers (graded) Final practical assessment (graded) Portfolio of practical and written tasks and assignments

The overall grade for the qualification is pass, merit, distinction and distinction*

What can I do after completing this course?

You will be qualified to work as a beauty therapist within industry or if you wish to, you can progress onto other courses:

Are there any extra costs?

You will be requied to purchase relevant text books to support your studies.

Additional Info

You will need to commit to good attendance, punctuality throughout the course. You will need to set aside time for independant study, particularly for theory based topics.

You will be required to demonstrate a good level of english in both written and communication skills, inline with level 2 standards.

You will need a basic understanding of IT such as email, word documents. We will provide tranining during induction, on the use of platforms such as Google Classroom and ProPortal.

Work experince is optional but encouraged. Your tutor can support you to find a work placement if you are not already working in industry
