These units are designed to prepare learners with academic progression into Level 3 learning whilst supporting students with their English and Mathematics development alongside their Level 2 UPS studies.
Minimum five grade 4-9 at GCSE or successful completion of the Level 2 course, and English or maths at grade 4.
You will be assessed in a variety of ways including essays and reports, as well as presentations and one exam in year one. There will be practical assessments as well which require students to demonstrate competencies in selected skills.
Students will achieve a BTEC Level 2 Uniformed Protective Services Diploma.
This qualification is primarily designed to support progression to Level 3 learning. However, it also supports learners progressing directly to employment, if studied as a one-year full-time study programme. It will give learners the knowledge and understanding required to apply for a range of entry-level roles within the uniformed protective services sector, or for employment as an apprentice within the sector, where learners will complete additional training and qualifications to gain the skills and knowledge required to progress in their chosen profession.
Cost of the course will be approximately £275 in year one which covers: educational visits, induction activities, uniform (outdoor kit), trips and outdoor adventurous activities.
All students are expected to participate and be able to fully complete all aspects of the course including outdoor and land and water based adventurous activities and physical training.
