Student Work Experience

We are committed to supporting all our students to engage in a range of work readiness activities which includes experiences of the workplace. Can you provide work placement opportunities for our students?

These placements normally last up to 30 hours and the aim is to support students to experience the work environment and hopefully put the skills and knowledge they have developed in the classroom into practice.

Placements can be for individual students or for groups of students. Can you provide employer led project opportunities?

These can be short project briefs which our students can support you with. We will support you to develop the brief and match the students.

Can we provide development opportunities for your staff through employer/employee encounters?

This can include one off talks to students, attendance at our careers events, workplace visits, product demonstrations and can also include mentoring programmes, skills competitions and events the opportunities are endless!

T Level Programmes – Industry Placements

T-Level programmes are the new progressive Level 3 qualification which have been developed with employers to ensure we have a future workforce who have the required advanced level skills, behaviours and knowledge.

Can you provide T Level Industry Placement Opportunities?

A mandatory element of these programmes is a 315 hour (750 hours for childcare) Industry Placement. This equates to 50 days. These placements need to be occupationally specific to the T Level programme and there is a strong expectation that students undertake duties which contribute to the business they are placed with.

ESC commits to matching our students to your business needs, to preparing them so that they are able to positively contribute and to monitoring their progress throughout their placement.

ESC currently offers T-Level programmes in:
  • Accountancy (Accountancy Assistant)
  • Business (Team Leadership & Administration)
  • Business (Business Support)
  • Construction (Surveying and Design for Construction and the Built Environment)
  • Digital (Digital Production, Design and Development)
  • Education and Childcare (Early Years Educator)
  • Education and Childcare (Assisting Teaching)
  • Engineering (Design and Development Mechanical Engineering)
  • Health (Supporting Healthcare – Support the Adult Nursing Team)
Other opportunities to support T Level students:

Most T level programmes allow the opportunity for students to undertake an employer-led small group project for up to 105 hours of the required 315 placement hours. Do you have a potential project our T level students could support you with? ESC will commit to supporting the development of the project brief, matching students to the project and monitoring their progress.
