East Sussex College
Sports Academies currently available: football, netball, athletics, basketball, rugby, gym and badminton to name a few! We encourage and support our Sports Academy students to compete regularly in national competitions and we are proud that a number of high-level sports performers attend East Sussex College! Some of them have made the move from College to professional sports teams, including professional football clubs.
In June 2022, Skiltek Sport became the official Football Academy provider at our Eastbourne campus.
In addition to the new partnership, the Sport department is introducing a number of new courses to make use of the fantastic, state-of-the-art gym facilities at Eastbourne Sports Park.
Ben White, Head of Operations at Skiltek, said, “We are delighted to be extending our partnership with the East Sussex College Group. After a successful six years at the Hastings campus we are excited at the opportunity to be able to grow our sports academy and enrichment programmes and look forward to working alongside staff and students at the Eastbourne campus.
“We continue to be passionate about empowering and engaging with students through sport, as well as creating opportunities, experiences and career pathways.”

In 2022, it was confirmed that Skiltek Sport, the developers of the College programme for ESC Hastings and Hastings United FC, will be continuing its partnership - great news for aspiring footballers!
We work with Skiltek to provide a fun and engaging environment for students and help give them opportunity for progression in sport. There have been numerous examples of students going from the academy into the professional game, most recently ESC Hastings’ Jack Bates who joined Derby County in July 2022.
Our Sports Academy programme at ESC Lewes is a long-standing enrichment programme offered at the College. Are you ready to develop and take your game to the next level? The College seeks to identify elite sportsmen and women to offer additional training and fitness opportunities and to represent the College at British College’s Sports events.
We encourage and support these athletes to compete regularly, with the prospect of competing in national competitions if successful in regional heats. We have a number of high-level sports performers who attended the College, some of whom are active within the College Academies and Sports Performance options. These include regional and national representation in sports such as football, taekwondo, sailing, mountain biking and karate.
If you are a current ESC Lewes student, please contact your tutor if you wish to add a sports academy to your programme.
