ADULT COMMUNITY LEARNING
Adult Community Learning supports our local communities become more resilient, confident, skilled, interested and eager to learn. Our courses aim to engage, motivate and inspire adults who need them the most. At East Sussex College we work with local community champions, charities and other training organisations to ensure robust, quality opportunities where people can learn something new or rediscover skills and abilities.
Adult Community Learning at ESC builds strong, inclusive and mobile communities. So, whether it’s from our suite of wellbeing courses, designed to support emotional wellbeing, creative courses to learn a new skills and to help escape from the stresses of everyday life, or cooking to keep you healthy, we have courses for everyone.
Adult Community Learning at ESC is free for anyone 19 years and older who is eligible to receive public funding.

In 2016/17 over 23,000 learners took part in a study looking at the effects of community learning on their mental health. The study found that taking part in short courses had a positive effect on the wellbeing of people and East Sussex College continues to provide these short courses to adults in our community.
