ESCG BOARD
membership vacancy news
Find out more about the East Sussex College Board’s existing membership here.
Generally, we look for Governors with the following priority skills/expertise:
We are also interested in candidates with knowledge of the East Sussex area, ideally with an existing network in local industries and/or relationships with key community stakeholders.
There are a range of organisations and stakeholders with a personal, professional, civic or financial interest in the welfare and success of a college and its learners. We are very keen to have new members from the local business economy, the local public sector and the voluntary, community and social sector.
Being a Governor is an enriching, voluntary role, and this is a particularly exciting time to be involved with East Sussex College. As a Governor, you will make an invaluable contribution to the development of excellence at the College. As a member of the Board, you will help set the mission and strategic direction of the College, as well as scrutinise its performance. Volunteering as a Governor is a great way to contribute to your local community, meet new people and improve the lives of local young people. You will develop transferrable skills and learn more about the education system whilst putting existing skills and experience to good use!
To apply, please send your CV and completed expression of interest form (see above) to the Director of Governance for consideration by the Board's Governance, Performance & Reputation Committee.
Please note, we do not currently have any vacancies for Independent Governors on the Board at present, but expressions of interest are always welcome and will be kept on file.
To learn more about the role, please refer to the Governor role description and person specification above. You are also welcome to contact the Director of Governance as follows:
