Access to HE students from Sussex Downs College present a cheque to St Wilfrid’s Hospice following successful fundraiser
Students studying Business and Law on the Access to Higher Education (HE) course at Sussex Downs College held a fundraising evening for St Wilfrid’s Hospice at Willingdon Golf Club last month. The students raised just over £800 for the local hospice, and presented a cheque to the charity last week.
The fundraising evening at Willingdon Golf Club was organised and executed by the Access to HE students. Students liaised with St Wilfrid’s, the golf club, and local businesses for donations and raffle prizes, before promoting the event around the College and to the public.
The evening consisted of a quiz and entertainment. Philip Quigley, Access to HE lecturer, says, “I’m hugely impressed by the work that the students put into this event and incredibly proud of the outcome that they achieved in a single night.”
