Administration students put their skills to charitable success

Administration course students have chosen local charity You Raise Me Up as their fundraising project for 2018. The Polegate-based charity struck a chord with the students, as the charity offers practical, emotional and financial support to families going through the sudden death of a teenager. You Raise Me Up is the only charity in the UK which offers such services.

The fundraising event took place at the Eastbourne campus and included a bake sale, plant sale and raffle prizes such as a spa treatment at the Grand Hotel, beauty treatments, vouchers to local businesses and vouchers to supermarkets.

The event tested the students’ administration skills such as: email send outs, telephone manner, negotiation, organisation, poster design and face-to-face meetings. The many hours spent on the event was worthwhile as our students raised a helpful sum for You Raise Me Up charity.
