Black History Month 2024 marks a significant moment to acknowledge and commemorate the invaluable contributions made by black individuals to society. This year’s theme for Black History Month is “Reclaiming Narratives,” and marks a significant shift towards recognising and correcting the narratives of Black history and culture.
Throughout the month, East Sussex College has planned a series of educational and engaging events, activities, and initiatives for students at each campus that aim to raise awareness about the diverse history of black communities, celebrate their achievements, and continue a dialogue around important topics related to race and equality.
Throughout the month, the College will be sharing some of their best student success stories across their social channels, including Netflix star Amita Suman, political figure Josh Babarinde OBE MP, and acting duo Almayra and Iman Shah.
