Air Cabin Crew students, currently studying towards their City and Guilds diploma, visited the airline’s assessment centre to undertake a cabin crew mock interview - a valuable opportunity for students to understand the process ahead of them.
The mock assessment session included a range of group interview scenarios that provided students with key information about what it takes to succeed in the industry.
Hayley Watkinson, Travel and Tourism lecturer at East Sussex College, said, “One of the students’ assessments is to attend an assessment day - it's good practice to have industry professionals involved. We were so lucky and honoured to have Devon, a member of Virgin Atlantic’s cabin crew with us. Devon helped welcome students in for registration and assessed them during their group interview scenarios on assertiveness, body language, communication skills and how well they contributed.”
Hayley added, “Devon authentically informed all learners of what the job involves, from training, to a day in the life of cabin crew and then a bit about Virgin Atlantic, telling them what to expect if they were successful. It really did add another level of realism to the process for our students.”
