The piece, based on a mandala, was created by students of Supported Education and featured a central, large collage of planet Earth, made from recycled materials. The threat faced by different animal species was the theme. The work also represented the threat faced by many animal species, featuring images of endangered animals created using different materials.
The installation was also a fundraiser that benefits the planet and a local charity at the same time! A donation area has been set up for Warming up the Homeless, where people are encouraged to donate their unwanted clothing instead of throwing them away, where they end up in landfills. The same group also showcased various green inventions designed to lower their carbon footprint, including a solar powered synthesiser for music! Visitors to the installation could also purchase seeds to encourage growing plants and wildflowers for our bees.
