College proud sponsor of Sussex Apprenticeship Award

East Sussex College is proud to be sponsoring the Health & Public Service Apprentice of the Year Award at the Sussex Apprenticeship Awards for 2021. The awards event provides a fantastic opportunity to celebrate individuals and organisations excelling in the apprenticeships industry in Sussex.

The Sussex Apprenticeship Awards 2021 event is set to take place on Thursday 9 December at the Hilton Brighton Metropole. To find out how you can book tickets to the awards evening, please click here.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the College has been celebrating students in the Care industry, whether it's as a volunteer or an apprentice. Earlier this year, the College teamed up with the NHS to help deliver apprenticeships to existing NHS staff in GP practices across Sussex. This scheme has been successful and is set to continue.

As the pandemic put the focus on the NHS workers, the College are pleased to sponsor the Health & Public Service Apprentice of the Year award, to further showcase and celebrate the outstanding work of individuals locally.

East Sussex College have three candidates shortlisted for this particular award including, Kelly Freestone and Kate Baldwin, and Lois Cruttenden who all work at Elite Choice Homecare.

Penny Shearer, Business Development Coordinator, said, “East Sussex College is proud to be sponsors of the Health & Public Service award at the Sussex Apprenticeship Awards for 2021. We chose to sponsor this category as it involves an industry that has received so much attention throughout the pandemic and we want those who work continuously hard to get the recognition they deserve.

“Working for a business while studying can be an important factor in terms of progression. We offer Level 4 apprenticeships which is equivalent to a Foundation Degree and we offer Level 5 Management apprenticeships too.”
