The Wellbeing Centres provide support for adults experiencing mental health difficulties and offer a range of positive activities and learning to assist them in their recovery.
Earlier this month, the first session of ‘Exploring Nature Through Art’ was hosted at the Hastings Centre by an East Sussex College Instructor, which allowed those in attendance to explore their individual creativity using the natural world as their inspiration.
Emma Upton, Team Manager at Southdown’s Hastings and Bexhill Wellbeing Centres, said “Since having the presence of the tutors from East Sussex College at the Wellbeing Centres there has been such a buzz and the atmosphere is fantastic!
“The tutors are very patient and understanding of the clients needs and the pace of learning. The courses have been very well attended, it’s been great having the College in and we look forward to many more courses come September.”
Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with one client saying, “I’ve really enjoyed the courses I have attended and they have now given me the confidence to attend college in the evenings to get involved outside of the wellbeing centre. I have done the singing for wellbeing and mindfulness, and creativity courses; I would highly recommend both!”
