The highlight of the event was a vibrant and energetic dragon dance, organised by ESOL student Kim Sheung Chau in collaboration with the Hastings Chinese Association.
The celebration brought the campus to life, with the dragon weaving through the atrium, accompanied by the rhythmic beat of drums and cymbals. The performance symbolised good fortune and prosperity for the year ahead, creating an exciting and immersive experience for everyone involved!
Alongside the performance, students had the opportunity to learn more about the traditions and customs associated with Chinese New Year, gaining an appreciation of the festival’s significance.
East Sussex College is proud to support cultural events that celebrate diversity within its community.
The success of the Chinese New Year event reflects the College’s commitment to inclusivity and the richness of cultural exchange among its students.
