East Sussex College Football & Education Programme

East Sussex College’s Eastbourne Football Academy won their first competitive match against the College’s Hastings Football Academy earlier this month (20/10/22), winning 2-1.

The College’s football academies at Eastbourne and Hastings came together in a cross-college fixture between the two campuses. The newly founded Eastbourne Football Academy, in partnership with Skiltek Sport, came out on top in a closely-fought contest ending 2-1.

The fixture and development of the Eastbourne College Programme is a result of four months of hard work by both players and coaches. Trial sessions were held throughout August ahead of numerous fixtures in October.

The programme, run in partnership with Skiltek Sport, is the only football and education U19 academy based in Eastbourne and all parties are proud of the students for their commitment and determination led by Skiltek coaches Tyler Henshaw and Giuseppe Lombardelli.

East Sussex College’s Eastbourne campus joined a partnership with Skiltek Sport in June as the College’s Football Academy provider. Skiltek also develops the College programme for ESC Hastings and Hastings United which has proved hugely successful over recent years. Sport is a vital part of college enrichment and life and Skiltek Sport, being the main enrichment and academy coaching providers, know how important physical activity and team dynamics are for mental health, fitness, peer to peer bonding and development of social engagement.
