The event sees thousands of quality vintage clothing items and accessories on sale, with the chance for savvy shoppers to transform their wardrobe for just £20 per kilo! Find vintage designer items from top brands, dating from the 1960s onwards. Bag yourself an Early Bird ticket for early access to the sales rails from 10am. General admission is from 12pm to 4pm.
“The Early Bird ticket always sells out, so I would recommend securing your tickets now,” says Samantha McIver, from Coast Events at East Sussex College. “My tip is to arrive early as this is a very popular event.”
East Sussex College is excited to host the vintage sale at its Station Plaza site. It reflects the College’s own carbon zero initiative, and is set to attract visitors of all ages.
There are several reasons why it’s good to shop vintage - for both the consumer and the planet. Buying pre-loved items helps the environment as perfectly good clothing is recycled for use. Wrap estimates that 350,000 tonnes of clothing go to landfill here in the UK each year! The Vintage Kilo Sale helps reduce this. What’s more, you can find affordable, one-off styles to express your individuality. If your new year’s resolution is to shop more sustainably, then this is the place to start.
Further opportunities include the chance to work the event. If you would like the experience, please email staff@worththeweightvintage.com.
All times are an ‘arrival from’ time to stagger customers. Please expect a short wait while other customers exit.
Tickets cost £3 for Early Bird access, or £2 general admission (under 12s go free). Find out more information on their Facebook event page or purchase tickets.
The event has COVID-19 safety measures in place, including mandatory face coverings, staggered entry times, hand sanitising stations, a one-way system, and cashless payment options.
