This innovative initiative aims to provide students with a hands-on and immersive learning experience that aligns with the demands of the rail engineering industry.
The newly constructed rail track, situated at the Lewes campus, stands as a testament to the college's commitment to developing practical skills and preparing students for rewarding careers in rail engineering.
Donna Harfield, Vice Principal Business Development, said, “Reflecting on a great week spent out and about. One of my week's highlights was seeing our amazing new Rail Track built at our Lewes campus. Elaine Remon and her team have done an incredible job at building an innovative and unique course for aspiring Rail Engineers, a six-week course that takes individuals through a diploma and into ongoing employment.
“It was so great to meet our latest round of students and hear about how this course is making a difference to them and their career aspirations.”
The Pre-Employment Rail course is six weeks-long and provides participants with a comprehensive curriculum, culminating in a diploma that equips them with the skills and knowledge necessary for a successful career in rail engineering.
