This inaugural event celebrated the College’s new relationship with the University of East Anglia, and the first students to graduate from BSc (Hons) Counselling and BA (Hons) Design courses.
Dressed in academic caps and gowns, graduates from a wide range of university courses crossed the stage to receive their awards from Professor Zoe Butterfint, Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Partnerships and Apprenticeships at the University of East Anglia.
In addition special awards were presented to students for outstanding academic achievements; Jack Sprenger, BA (Hons) Visual Communication: Graphic Design; Dylan Love, BA (Hons) Design; Victoria Collins, HNC Business. These awards were for their exceptional achievements within their chosen specialisms.
Guest speaker Simon Skinner, an alumnus of the BA (Hons) Music Production course, spoke about how his skills, acquired during his time with ESC, have served him to this day as the Managing Director of Racquet Studios. Simon's career has spanned a broad spectrum of media, from live production in music to magazine publishing and creative agency, and more recently in cutting-edge virtual film production.
Meg Sullivan, Head of HE & Partnerships at East Sussex College, said, “Our graduates have shown incredible resilience, dedication, and passion throughout their studies, and we are so proud to celebrate their achievements today. They have chosen to study on a quality degree locally, to remain connected to their roots, whilst expanding their horizons. They are truly ready to make a meaningful impact in their chosen fields, and we wish them every success in the future.”
Following the ceremony, students provided live music and photography, and guests enjoyed refreshments and photo opportunities with the iconic Grand Hotel as a backdrop.
Congratulations to the ESC University Courses Class of 2024 on this milestone achievement, and best wishes for all that lies ahead!
