Led by FE Sussex, this event brought together students from colleges and sixth forms across the region to explore cutting-edge immersive spaces and experience new ways of learning beyond the classroom.
The event featured two inspiring guest speakers, each offering unique insights. First up was Gio Prince, who took students on a deep dive - literally - into the world of Scuba Diving in Sussex waters. He shared fascinating facts about the species of sharks found along the UK coast, leaving students amazed by what’s hiding beneath the waves.
Next, students were treated to an unforgettable talk by William Bayley MBE, a Paralympic gold medallist and former Strictly Come Dancing contestant. He shared his journey to sporting success, overcoming challenges along the way to achieve greatness. Will even let students and staff try on his gold medals!
East Sussex College’s CEO & Principal, Rebecca Conroy, opened the series of events adding: “East Sussex College was delighted to host the first immersive experience as part of the Festival of Careers. We have had some brilliant feedback from students across Sussex about their experiences. Our speakers were really inspiring and were brought to life by our new technology. We look forward to future events at partner colleges.”
With more immersive events on the way, students can look forward to even more exciting learning opportunities across Sussex!
