The first was the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, a fast-paced, feel-good musical comedy about a group of quirky students competing in a spelling bee like no other.
With its upbeat songs and hilarious characters, the show was a huge hit with audiences and gave students the chance to flex their comedy and character skills.
Their second production took a darker turn, diving into a dystopian world where water is rationed and basic human rights come at a cost. Inspired by a bold Broadway hit, the show tackled big themes with a clever mix of humour, drama, and music - proving just how versatile and committed the students are to their craft.
Archie Burrows, a Performing Arts student, said: “As performers this show has been different but a truly wonderful training and bonding experience which has pushed us to become better performers. The support from tutors and other cast members has been truly special. Anyone who has the pleasure of taking Musical Theatre at Lewes is in for such a treat!”
A huge well done to the cast, crew, and tutors involved. These shows not only entertained, but also gave students a chance to develop their skills, grow in confidence, and create memories to last a lifetime!
