The event focused on sustainability, renewable energy, and future green careers, giving young students a chance to dive into the world of eco-friendly practices.
Elaine Remon, Head of Future Skills at ESC, said, “We were thrilled to host the Green Primary Challenge at our Green Hub. The students’ enthusiasm was fantastic, with each school presenting well despite their age. They left with a deeper understanding of sustainability and the bee hotels they made, which were a real hit!”
Throughout the day, students participated in activities like building wind turbines, designing bee hotels, and learning about sustainable construction careers with CITB. They also explored waste management and the benefits of solar power.
One student shared their excitement: "I enjoyed learning about the bees—I gotta love them! The solar panels are useful!" Another added, "I enjoyed everything—my favourite was the wind turbine, and I’m proud of our presentation."
This inspiring event, organised by Eastbourne Education Business Partnership and the local council, gave young students a hands-on look at sustainability and green jobs, leaving them with valuable lessons - and their very own bee hotels!
