Renowned for his role as David Bowie's guitarist and his substantial impact on the music scene, Kevin shared invaluable experiences and advice with some of ESC’s aspiring musicians.
Having been a significant figure in the music industry, Kevin emphasised the importance of making connections and showcasing your value in the field. He highlighted the lack of a predefined roadmap in his own journey and encouraged students to demonstrate their unique contributions to the industry.
Speaking to HE Music students, Kevin said, “There was no road map for me. It's about making contacts. It's about letting people know or demonstrating that you've got something of value to contribute to what they do.
“I don't know how many of you here are musicians and consider yourselves musicians, apart from being someone who performs. But that's from the point of view of being someone who's largely been a musician. It's just about being useful, making sure that you can be useful.”
