Holocaust Survivor Dorit Oliver-Wolff Returns to ESC for International Women’s Day

To mark International Women’s Day, East Sussex College in Lewes had the incredible honour of welcoming Holocaust survivor, activist, and author Dorit Oliver-Wolff back to campus.

On Wednesday, 12th March, Dorit shared her powerful story of survival and resilience with students in the Suman Hall.

Dorit’s visit was especially meaningful, as she took the time to speak about her personal experiences during the Holocaust, shedding light on the importance of hope and strength in the face of unimaginable challenges. Her story not only highlighted the struggles she endured but also emphasized the importance of remembering history to ensure such atrocities are never repeated.

Students were captivated by Dorit’s emotional and inspiring talk, as she recounted her journey from a young girl forced to endure unimaginable hardships to becoming a passionate advocate for human rights and education. Her message resonated deeply with the audience, showing them the true power of resilience and the impact one person can make in the world.

Tessa Echalaz, Student Voice & Enrichment Coordinator at East Sussex College, shared her thoughts on the visit: "It has been an absolute privilege to welcome Dorit to our campus. Her incredible story of resilience and courage has truly inspired our students, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to hear her speak. We can’t wait to welcome her back in the future!"
