Choosing the Right Course for You
At ESC, we offer a huge range of subjects - from A-Levels and T-Levels to technical and professional courses, apprenticeships, and creative programmes. Not sure where to start? Here are a few tips:

What subjects or activities do you love right now? Your interests are a great guide to a future career. - Consider how you like to learn.
Do you prefer exams or hands-on work? Different courses suit different learners. - Explore your options.
Take a look at our course pages, watch student stories, or come to an Open Event to try things out. - Don’t worry if you’re unsure.

Once you’ve found something that feels right, you’re ready to start your application.
Ready to Apply?
We recommend you apply by the 31st January to have the best chance of securing a place on your preferred course. You can still apply throughout the spring and summer, but some of our courses are very popular and fill up quickly, and then waiting lists may be put in place.

1. Visit Careers East Sussex and create your profile
To apply for a college course at East Sussex College, you’ll submit your application via the Careers East Sussex website. Creating a free, online profile is quick and lets you manage applications, view updates and track your interview invitations.
2. Choose the course you want to study
Explore the course you’re interested in and check the entry requirements and course level. Use your predicted GCSE grades to help decide which level is right for you.
If you’re applying for college but aren’t sure what to pick yet, don’t worry. You can still apply and talk it through with us at your interview.
Choosing the right course:
- A-Levels: Choose three subjects
- T-Levels: Choose one full T-Level
- Professional & Technical Courses: Choose one course in your chosen specialism
3. Apply for your chosen course(s)
Submit your application through Careers East Sussex. You can make an application to more than one of our campuses in Eastbourne, Hastings, and Lewes, giving you flexibility. Your final choice happens after your college interview, so there’s no pressure.

- Complete the application form and check all the details carefully before sending it to us
- Send your completed form to us via email or by post.
