Learning, Earning and Growing

Learning, Earning and Growing

Chloe Cattaway, 29, is currently completing a Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship while working as an administrator at A1 Quality Home Care.

Her apprenticeship has given her the opportunity to build confidence, gain real workplace skills, and progress in a career that fits around her life.

Before starting her apprenticeship, Chloe found school challenging. “I struggled at school and often felt misunderstood, which affected my confidence massively,” says Chloe. “Looking back, I now realise I simply learned differently, but at the time there wasn’t the right support in place to help me succeed.”

Choosing an apprenticeship gave Chloe a different route to success. It was encouraged by her employer, who recognised her potential and wanted to help her develop.

“My manager encouraged me to consider an apprenticeship after recognising my potential. It offered a practical way to learn while gaining real work experience and earning. It also fits perfectly around my life as a working parent of three.”

One of the biggest benefits of Chloe’s apprenticeship has been the boost in confidence it has given her, both at work and personally.

“What I enjoy most is the confidence it gives me,” says Chloe. “I feel valued, trusted, and supported by both my manager and assessor, which has helped me grow personally and professionally.”

Through her apprenticeship, Chloe has developed key workplace skills and a better understanding of how businesses operate day to day.

“The apprenticeship has helped me understand how business works in a real-world setting. I’ve become more organised, confident, and proactive, with stronger communication and time-management skills.”

Chloe has already made strong progress in her role and is looking ahead to the future with ambition.

“I’ve taken on more responsibility at work and grown hugely in confidence. In the future, I’d like to continue developing within the organisation and progress into a more senior or training-focused role.”

Chloe’s story shows how apprenticeships can provide a supportive, practical pathway into work, helping learners build skills, confidence, and a future that works for them.

This National Apprenticeship Week, we’re proud to celebrate apprentices like Chloe, who are proving that there’s more than one way to succeed.
