The visit included a guided tour of Birchwood Ford’s state-of-the-art facilities, where students explored various aspects of the motor trade. Students observed advanced diagnostic tools and the latest in automotive technology, giving them a clear understanding of industry expectations and innovations.
Mark Streeter, Deputy Head of Curriculum for Engineering and Motor Vehicle at East Sussex College, said, “This was a fantastic opportunity for our students to see how the skills they’re learning in the classroom are applied in a professional environment. Visits like this inspire students, helping them understand the career paths available to them and the standards required in the industry.”
The students also had the chance to speak with Birchwood Ford professionals, who shared insights into their roles, career journeys, and advice for success in the automotive sector. The experience highlighted the importance of technical knowledge, teamwork, and a passion for problem-solving in the motor vehicle trade.
This visit is one of many ways East Sussex College connects students to the industry, providing real-world learning experiences that prepare them for successful careers.
