The group of Sensory Learning students created a series of prints for a secret postcard auction, in order to raise money for leading veterans charity, Combat Stress. The charity works to support veterans battling mental health problems.
All of the painted postcards were sold/auctioned as part of the secret postcard auction and some of the best ones are now for sale. Combat Stress have released a series of bespoke postcards for sale on their website and Sensory Learning tutor, Steve Carroll, has had his art chosen as part of the postcard sales.
Steve said, “This is especially relevant at this time of year as not all veterans are happy and willing to take part in festivities and struggle with the time of year and all it entails. Fireworks, drinking alcohol, community gatherings, close family gatherings etc can become hard.
“The students from Sensory learning have also been involved in the production of postcards as part of the Secret Postcard Auction that is held annually and have raised lots of money for a good cause. Students within Sensory Learning have produced wonderful work and I have no doubt that their art will be picked in the future.”
The whole event this year raised nearly £40,000, with ESC’s Sensory Learning students raising more than £400 of that sum.
